Strength: Approx 200 ADF personnel
Area of Operations: Papua New Guinea and West Irian (Indonesia).
Following the Disastrous Droughts in PNG, Australia contributed a Logistical force (including helicopters) to provide food and medical relief to thousands of PNG people.

Awards: No Awards have been presented for the many Humanitarian Operations ADF Personnel have served. Currently the Australian Peacekeeper & Peacemaker Veterans' Association (APPVA), are lobbying to have these missions classified “Humanitarian”, in order to be recognised with the Humanitarian Overseas Service Medal (HOSM).
